Low-Cost Vision Zero Toolkit: Quick-Build Strategies to Save Lives
As a former Vision Zero manager for a large metropolitan area, I’ve seen firsthand how major safety projects can dramatically reduce crashes. But not every jurisdiction can afford big projects. Most cities have tight budgets and need smaller, quick wins. That’s why I put together a 18-page Low-Cost Vision Zero Toolkit. These safety countermeasures don’t require large budgets or years of design work. The recommendations in the toolkit are inspired by Hoboken, NJ, which has gone nearly nine years without a traffic fatality largely through these “quick-build” interventions, as well as my Vision Zero experience in Miami-Dade County.
It’s designed for planners, community advocates, and local officials to implement immediately. This is the kind of resource cities pay consultants tens of thousands to create. I’ve distilled my Vision Zero experience into a practical guide you can use today. Paid subscribers can download the PDF at the link below. Good luck!
